The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends bringing your child to the dentist before his or her first birthday

These important appointments allow the pediatric dentist and the hygienist to monitor your child’s oral health. The hygienist will clean and polish the teeth. This helps to promote healthy gums and teeth by removing plaque that can cause decay and gum infection. They will also provide oral hygiene  and diet recommendations specifically for your child.

Dr. Chhibber or Dr. Kyrkos will check your child’s teeth for decay and signs of early development problems. They may recommend radiographs at this visit. They will also answer any questions or concerns you might have.
