Office Policies
How are appointments scheduled?
Bay Pediatric Dentistry attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. We have several operatories so we are able to treat multiple family members at the same time. We encourage preschool children to be seen in the morning when they are more rested. The morning appointments allow us to work more slowly with your child for their comfort. School children with a lot of work to be done should also be seen in the morning for the same reason. Dental appointments are considered an excused absence from school. We will make every attempt to keep your child from missing school, but we ask for your assistance in this regard.
What are the office hours?
Our office hours are as follows: We work every week Monday through Thursday 9am to 5pm. We also offer one Saturday and one Friday each month.
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
We ask our patients to notify our office 24 hours in advance if they need to cancel an appointment. We do not double-book our schedules. Appointed times are reserved exclusively for each patient. We realize that unexpected events may occur but we ask for your assistance with our cancellation policy.
What if I have an after-hours emergency?
We always have one of our pediatric dentists on call after regular office hours for emergencies and urgent matters. Emergency numbers are available on the answering machine.
Are there payment options?
Payment for professional services is due at the time that dental treatment is provided. If we have your insurance information on the day of the appointment, we will be happy to file a claim on your behalf. Every effort will be made by our office team to formulate a treatment plan for your child which fits your timetable and budget, providing the best possible care for your child. We accept cash, personal checks, and most major credit cards. If needed, Sheila, our office manager, will arrange a variety of payment plans to fit your individual financial situation.
Our office policy regarding dental insurance:
Please inform the office of the insurance plan available through your employer when scheduling your appointment. Please be familiar with your insurance benefits. By law, your insurance company is required to pay each claim within 30 days of receipt. You are responsible for any balance on your account after your insurance company has responded to your claim.
Please understand that we file dental insurance as a courtesy to our patients. We do not have a contract with your insurance company…only you do. We are not responsible for how your insurance company handles its claims or for what benefits they pay on any specific claim.
